About the company
The backstory of our business is actually a love story. Lois is an eastern Kentucky native and Jesse is a transplant from Arkansas. In 2017 Jesse, a welder by trade, was traveling as a subcontractor when fate intervened at the grocery store. He decided to put down roots and Independent Metal Works LLC was founded in 2019 just a few months before the wedding.
Lois still works as an accounting professor at a local university and manages the business finances. She has also taught herself how to design projects for the CNC plasma cutting table. Jesse performs all of the hands-on welding, fabrication, and finish work and manages our social media accounts.
We are passionate about creating custom pieces that will stand the test of time. We strive not to be your run-of-the-mill metal shop. Our skills are diverse, we are committed to quality, and we can bring your unique idea to life!
